History and Heraldry Mobile Application

History and Heraldry harnessed mobile technologies to streamline their sales operation whilst improving customer service levels.

From a head office in Yorkshire, UK with manufacturing in the far east and a truly global sales operation; we were commissioned to develop a bespoke mobile application around our clients established retail operation.

The Insight

Hundreds of Retail Agents work with retailers to agree on new product lines and re-orders of past lines. Often working in remote locations without the guarantee of an internet connection, there was a need for more information to be at an agents fingertips so they can help retailers to make informed commercial decisions.

Retail and distribution operations have been finely tuned as this business has grown organically over 10 years whilst selling over 400,000,000 products.

The Idea

Following a period of research and insights, we advised that an application is developed in a modular way that can accommodate additional functions as the needs of the business change over time.

Comprising a mixture of wizard-based processes for easy ordering supported by sections of information for sales literature, customer trading history and personal key performance information.

An agent can synchronise the app at home for a complete set of all their customers’ records before going about their duties with or without an internet connection, saving our client from having to purchase multiple data contracts.

Orders are retained on their device throughout the day until they choose to synchronise the application once again with Wifi.

To prevent any disruption to head office support functions and minimise phase one investment the application parses data with existing business management systems.

The Solution

We launched a tailored exhibition mode at the UK’s biggest gift conference with complete success throughout the entire week at the NEC. We then began the UK roll out to all sales agents before expanding the rollout across Europe.

New languages are regularly added along with additional features and small tweaks based on user feedback.
